  1. Glad you enjoyed that picture, John. You will see on the wall five or six posters advertising forthcoming games at Fellows Park. Those posters were dotted about the ground in those days plus one or two locations in the area. The club produced a special programme for that game with extended pen pictures and photos of our famous visitors from London. There was also a four page look back at our cup jousts with Division1. The Spurs line up included the likes of Jennings, Mullery,Greaves, England, Venables and Gilzean etc so we did really well to hold out for so long.

  2. What enjoyable memories for me to see this picture.i remember this game so well.Jimmy Greaves was one of the greatest players i ever had the privilage to see,but on this particular day he reduced me to tears.my beloved Walsall whove ive followed since 1966 and who i thought could pull off a draw on the day fell victim to a typical Jimmy Greaves goal.but what memories you bring back for me of the day.thank you so much.

  3. Workmen pictured adding additional crush barriers on the popularside ahead of the Walsall v. Tottenham Hotspur FA Cup Round Three game on Saturday January 4th, 1969. Far left of this picture is Walsall manager Ron Lewin. The game attracted 18,779 spectators and despite putting up a brave show Walsall lost to an 89th strike from Jimmy Greaves.
