  1. THE CHAP TALKING TO STAN BENNETT IS RAY WIGGIN(S) -A RUSHALL CHAP (CENTRE FORWARD) WHOSE APPEARANCES WERE LIMITED DUE TO HIS TIME AS A SADDLER CLASHING WITH ALAN CLARKES !

  2. Mike… The only ones I know for certain are Stan Bennett (carrying his coat). Nearside George Meek, in the middle is of course Colin Taylor. Fairly sure to his left (with programme in hand) is Granville Palin. The man behind Taylor and looking towards Palin I believe is Trevor Foster. Not sure who the man is chatting to Bennett nor the two in the background.

Can anyone confirm that Palin and Foster are the ones I have suggested and can anyone name the others?

  3. Am i correct in saying that in this picture are Stan Bennett, George Meek, Colin (cannonball ) Taylor . Possibly Gordon Wills ? .Can anyone put names to them all

  4. Walsall v. Doncaster Rovers on April 9th, 1988, was deemed Centenary Day by Walsall Football Club and before the game around 80 former Saddlers were paraded before a crowd of 6,631. Players from as early as the 1930’s right up to the 1980’s were introduced to the supporters who warmly applauded their heroes from yesteryear.
